The Durham Belt Line

 

While intended as an equitable transportation pathway, the development associated with the Belt Line will likely create a physical, cultural, and economic access barrier in areas that have been historically segregated and disinvested through redlining and forced segregation—unless coordinated, social equity policies are adopted at the same time.

 

We acknowledge the Occaneechi Band of the Saponi and Eno as the traditional stewards of Durham, and pay our respects to elders past, present, and future.
